Prof. Yang Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data and Systems Engineering at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Beihang University, a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC). Before joining HKU, Prof. Xu was a postdoctoral research associate at UC Berkeley.
Prof. Xu’s research is dedicated to advancing design and manufacturing technologies with the potential to transform future product design and production. His current focus areas include next-generation additive manufacturing (AM) processes, intelligent manufacturing systems, and innovative designs empowered by AI/ML.
